    I hear that Gianfranco Ferre will announce later today the appointment of Tommaso Aquilano and Roberto Rimondi as its new designers. Rimondi and Aquilano, of the label 6267, have been at the center of Ferre speculation for the past month. They’re a good choice, considering their background in tailoring, and of course their own designs for 6267 and Malo have been generating buzz for a couple of seasons. Living in Italy, working for many years at Max Mara, looking closely at couture–it’s fair to say that Rimondi and Aquilano already know a lot about Ferre and, possibly, what the label needs to be contemporary.

    Sunday’s blog:mode event at the Met went off pretty well, I think. (Sorry, Lori, I didn’t get a chance to say hi). There’s so much one can say on this topic, and I sort of agree with someone in the previous thread that maybe we were a bit all over the map. I wondered if Scott’s audience expects that now. Anyway, there were lots of questions from the Met crowd and I’m sorry that we couldn’t get to them all.

    That night I went to the premiere of the Rolling Stones-Scorsese documentary, “Shine a Light.” It’s really funny, in part because of Scorsese’s dealings with the band (getting a song list out of them was a bit of a trial) and in part because of the 60s and 70s news clips he included.
