Prior to the final live Semi-Final being aired on television, an unknown individual, who said they were an executive at Cowell's company Syco, published a blog on the internet and ensured it looked as if it was an insider source, which claimed that the competition had been fixed so that singer Ronan Parke would win the fifth series which he did not he came in second place.
