Tarcísio Meira, One of The Most Iconic Faces on Brazilian TV, Dies at Age 85

One of the great names of Brazilian TV, Tarcísio Meira died, aged 85, this Thursday. The actor received a positive diagnosis for Covid on August 6 and did not resist the complications resulting from the virus.

Tarcisio contracted the coronavirus from his year-old wife, Glória Menezes. They had been together since and had completed the Covid vaccination in April. Since then, the couple has been isolated on the family farm, in Porto Feliz, in the interior of São Paulo.

If there was a face at the end of the 20th century that best represented the role of the heartthrob in the country, it was this one from São Paulo, who marked his passage on Brazilian TV playing virile, intelligent and often rich men.
