Shakespeare Day

Students of Grade 5 introduced the life and works of William Shakespeare through a powerpoint presentation.They also brought alive the immortal characters of his plays by enacting their famous lines. Students of Grade 6 and 7 presented Julius Caeser - among the greatest of Shakespearean tragedies. The crescendo of this performance was reached a the point of Caeser's assassination. Mark Antony's iconic speech was delivered by five different students representing various emotions and moods of the Romans.

It can safely by said that the legacy of Shakespeare found a fitting celebration in this effort by the students and teachers!

    Celebrating the Birth Anniversaries of Shakespeare and Rabindranath Tagore at Shiv Nadar School, Faridabad

    Shiv Nadar School, Faridabad, recently organized a series of events to commemorate the birth anniversaries of two literary giants, William Shakespeare and Rabindranath Tagore. The school aimed to promote the love for literature and reading among its students through a festival-like celebration. The events were filled with exciting activities and student-led performances, creating an enriching experience for everyone involved.

    Shakespeare Day Celebrations: On 23 April, the Middle and Senior school students participated in a variety of activities to ignite their curiosity and appreciation for Shakespeare's works. Crossword puzzles and a treasure hunt were organized, engaging the students in a fun and educational manner. A special assembly on 24 April took place in the WCH, where students presented news from Shakespeare's times in the Bard's linguistic style. The assembly also featured musical and theatrical performances inspired by Shakespeare's works, including Ophelia and Love Story, Shakespeare-inspired songs, and a contemporary take on The Merchant of Venice. A quiz on Shakespeare's life and works further encouraged the students to explore and learn about the renowned playwright.

    Rabindranath Tagore's Birth Anniversary: To mark the 162nd birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore on 10 May, Grade 1 and 2 organized a special assembly. The students were introduced to Tagore's life and noble teachings in the field of culture, literature, and poetry. The assembly began with Ms. Preeti Gautam, the Deputy Head, sharing insights about different sources of inspiration for learning. Tanishq Sir portrayed Uncle Gogo, a close friend of Tagore, and interacted with the children, highlighting Tagore's significant contributions in education, particularly the establishment of Shantiniketan.
